Meet David Nicoson
South End floral designer, David Nicoson’s passion for flowers and plants began at age 13 while sweeping floors at his local florist in his hometown of Ware, Massachusetts.
He picked up the elements pertinent to the craft of flower arranging by “walking around with my eyes open”. Sensitivity to the use of colors, knowledge of flowers and plants and incorporation of seasonality in his designs, David combines his observations with an intuitive understanding of the background an arrangement is created for, the message the flowers hope to convey, as well as the occasion it accentuates.
Since moving to the South End in 2005, David has been an event designer and boutique manager at Winston Flowers and Stapleton Floral. The Covid-19 pandemic has had a devastating effect on all aspects of the hospitality business including floral design.
Since the closure of the shop he managed in 2020, David has been personally enhancing the everyday lives of his clients with custom seasonal and holiday arrangements, exterior window boxes, planters, and interior floral designs for their homes and businesses.
